~ Carefree Summers ~
Summer days are welcomed
and it's carefree way,
Children feel the freedom
as they run and play.
The children eagerly
though impatiently wait,
For the sound of the ice cream truck
the treats do captivate.
Families get together
for picnics to enjoy,
At home, traveling
it could be in Illinois.
This is the time for
swimming in lakes,
The races, splashing,
diving, as day breaks.
Campers have a special
time to reunite,
Around the campfire
when it's dark at night.
Hiking in the forests
where trees are closely set,
Finding the traveled footpath,
stumbling a threat.
Vacation time finds
families traveling far,
Sightseeing in strange
places, maybe a bazaar.
So whether the summer months
brings traveling trips,
Or relaxing days at home
in contentment to unzip.
The memories and activities
of years in the past,
Will always be remembered
so what's this year's forecast?
