~ My Forever Love ~

 

If I could ask the Lord for one thing,
before my time is gone.
One prayer to be answered,
before I must move on.
It would be to know your love,
be held close to your heart.
To touch your life in a special way,
before we two must part!

I have seen your goodness,
God's light shining through your face.
I've seen His miracles work through you.
His wonders and His grace!
I've been touched by your sweetness,
I've seen and felt your pain.
If I could have but one wish,
you would know love again!
 
I've waited in your shadow,
stood fast in your trust.
I'm waiting here to love you,
and will as long as I must!
For darling, I DO love you,
and know I always will.
I've loved you all my yesterdays
and tomorrow I'll love you still!
 
So, if I go to heaven
and leave you behind, my friend,
Please know that I'll still love you,
on this you can depend.
Love deeper than an ocean,
higher than the stars so bright.
That shine within your eyes
on a dark and lonely night!
 
Love that lasts forever,
never to go away.
So strong it can't be broken,
forever and a day.
It CAN last forever,
if it flows from God above...
And this is what I give to you

It does not envy, it does not boast,
it is not proud...
It is not rude, is not self seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no records of wrongs...
Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices with the truth...
It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes and always perseveres..
