~ An Ocean Of Love ~
O Lord carry us away on your sea of love
Where we would want to be,
In dreams that will come true
Within old age we see.
How permanent we long to become,
While swept in and out on the tide of love,
Secure in the ebb and flow of life
Although the waves be rough.
But why can't I meet my husbands needs
Even as a loving wife,
Could his heart require too much
For me to satisfy his life.
Maybe, if his heart is held complete
In a love beyond my own,
Then he might turn again to me the more
So I won't feel alone.
And I too, cannot find the love enough
Just from resources in myself,
For the cares of every day
Keep tearing at my inner health.
But, if I seek an enduring love
That is greater than my own,
Then I can reach out to my husband
So he won't feel alone.
O Lord, how we need Your life within
The fullness of Yourself,
Then how much more we will have to give
From such richer beauty felt.
Lifted above the cares of the day
Into Your rapturous delight,
Glowing in each other's heart
In the joy of eternal light.
For the fulfilling love
You will give to both of us,
Protects our union forever
When in You we trust.
