God sure knew I needed someone

Sort of, palsie walsie all the
time
With a passé of common sense,
fun
And wisest li'l snippets, good
and truly fine
He knew I needed a very genteel
friend
Distinctive like, sharp edged
and defined
To uncloud me on the days of fog
And effectively clear my muddled
mind
He knew exactly the most
supportive friend
Would be not too cultivatively
funny
But, of propriety and simple
faith
Just a really special buddy
buddy
He knew His very choicest gift
Was someone not too stylishly
grand
But, tailor made to
appropriately suit my heart
Just to gently hold my hand
Someone with a little up to date
refinement
Dignity, gentility and grace,
Discerning, polite and very kind
With the very sweetest taste
Ah, in you He found all this,
and so much more
So very comely, that you are
You come to me exquisitely
Just the very nicest for my
heart
