MEMORIAL DAY

I'm putting flowers on your grave today
I miss you more than I can say
But the Good Lord decided to take you away
As I remember you this Memorial Day.



Each grave is adorned with such care
Love is sent up on a prayer
Heavy hearts, some can't bear
But the Good Lord has made me fully aware.

That I shouldn't feel so depressed
Or suffer from any undo distress
For He has all we want to possess
It's unconditional love He does express.

Memorial Day comes but once a year
My face is marked with many tears
I kneel by your grave so you can hear
That now everything has been made so clear.

That I won't forget you, this is true
The Good Lord has helped me to get through
Each day will start and end anew
But I will always remember you.
