Daddy's Hands ~ Remembering Dad
Hands were strong as concrete
yet had a gentle touch
safe-haven for my broken heart
when life became too much
Fingers long and slender
brushed thru my curly hair
mended wounds of childhood
with tender loving care
He molded family values
Daddy was so strong
hugs and praise were given
filled my heart with song
Old and gray with wrinkles
his grasp became so weak
but still I can remember
his touch upon my cheek
Hand in hand with Daddy
fond pictures of the mind
carousels in motion
of those days now gone
Clinging to the mem'ries
of Daddy's warm embrace
every thought is golden
can never be replaced
When my days are over
I finally meet my fate
Daddy's hand will lead me
past the Heaven's Gate
Til then, I will remember
hold tight his love for me
'n cherish all the mem'ries
like whispers in the breeze
