~ The Little Things ~
It's the little things
in life
that bring us peace and joy;
a healthy baby girl,
a bouncing baby boy;
someone to share your life,
who'll hold you when you cry,
who understands your ups and downs
and never questions why.
A pocket full of pennies
a roof over your head
faith enough to kneel and pray
before you fall in bed.
Flowers in the spring,
little dogs and cats;
courage when you're old enough
to wear a purple hat.
Food upon the table
when things are kind of tight,
knowing that you're not alone
when you turn out the light.
Love of friends and family,
smiles and laughter too,
these are just some of the things
that I would wish for you.
