A Matter Of Trust


Whatever happened to
Being friends
Through thick and thin?

People are not
Always what they
Seem to be.

Do be careful with who
You trust "in" dear one.

Trusting people and putting
Your trust "in" people
Are two very different things.

This also applies to those
You consider friends.

Some people will say
Things and try
To lead you astray.

They may sound
So inviting
But it's only pretend.

Be watchful for the
Snare that wants you
To take a simple dare.

This could easily be a trap...

And that's all it will take
To throw you off track
And eventually
You'll find yourself being
Stabbed in the back.

Please don't misunderstand...

Friends are wonderful
And friends are great-
If they truly accept
You as you are.

These are the friends that remain true
Whether you are happy or blue
And expect nothing from you.

But most importantly...

Remember the One true friend
That you "can" put your trust "in"
He is the loving Lord.

The Bible warns not to put
Your trust "in" many things-
This includes people and friends.
