Birth of Church of Pentecost ~
It was on the day of Pentecost
Gathered in an upper room
One hundred twenty souls were waiting
Knowing that prayer'd be answered soon
Jesus had said to go and wait
For the promise He would send
They had no doubt 'bout what He said
They wanted to be born again
They all knew to be patient
And take Him at His word
A special gift from heaven was theirs
When it came the whole town heard
For the Holy Ghost had fallen
On every one of them
They all spoke in another tongue
And were heard by many a man
Oh! What a day that Pentecost
It changed the world around
Many that heard were astonished
At that Pentecost sound
They spoke in many languages
All that were there understood
Just what they were talking about
God saw to it they would
Now He'd fulfilled His promise
And thus the Church was born
So ever since that wonderful day
This church has been moving on
It'll keep moving on here below
'Til God says that's enough
Then in the twinkling of an eye
The church will be caught up.
