~ AS I BOW MY HEAD TO PRAY ~

  Another day I've struggled through
Won't let it get me down.
I feel sometimes I'm over my head,
And think that I may drown.

Tonight with bones so weary,
I bow my head to pray...
I can't even concentrate
On what I want to say.

I hope that God forgives me
When my prayers are incomplete...
It's just that I'm so tired,
I often fall asleep!

I'll do better tomorrow night,
I won't work myself so hard...
But, then there's cleaning, shopping,
And I can't neglect the yard!

So, I think I've found a better way...
And my prayers are better said,
Silently throughout the day,
Not when I go to bed.

I'll give thanks for all my gifts
And all my blessings too...
Before the day can take it's toll,
The way they always do

I hope He listens closely
To the prayers within my heart...
It's easier to say them
When it isn't yet quite dark

I can say them all day long,
And not forget a thought...
Give thanks for all my blessings,
The way I know I ought...

Because I know what happens
At the end of every day...
As I start my heartfelt prayers again...
Sleep carries me away!
