The children asleep
snuggled tightly in bed
visions of Santa
dance round in their heads
Christmas lights twinkle
each new parcel placed
'neath tree with others
a smile on my face
Reflecting on friendship
the comfort of home
memorial candle
shows light, all it's own
I feast on warm thoughts
like an opus in mind
and savor the eggnog
with feelings divine.
Peaceful and calm
I sing 'Silent Night'
outside snow is falling
leaving blankets of white
Eight hours 'til morning
the children will rise
excitement and laughter
a glow in their eyes
Blessings of Christmas
bring joy, love and cheer
capture the magic
all through the year
