~ Christmas Remembrances ~
So many Christmases in my full life,
They come and go, so many seem alike.
We celebrated with trees so very bright,
Glimmering, sparkling, setting off light.
The presents laid prettily arranged under the tree,
Beckoning, proclaiming they're for you and me.
Somehow the meaning of the holiday so dear,
Gets lost in the preparations, but not this year.
The world is in turmoil, our soldiers far away,
Our prayers are for peace, love on this day.
Christmas was not created for man,
It's the birth of our Savior, God's precious plan.
To save sinners all the world over,
Have faith, repent, so many turn over.
Pageants and music, choirs do sing,
Sermons, speeches, all for the King.
The one wonderful gift to all mankind,
Jesus, our Savior, God mastermind.
Fill up your heart with love so true,
Christ put it there, for me and you.
