~ Deceptions ~

There are people who do hurtful things
They create fabrications and lies
Deception is their work of art
It's used to crucify.

No rhyme or reason for their actions
No explanations will suffice
Their tongue spews out nothing but venom
Their soul they have sacrificed.

They wear a mask that has two faces
One of jealousy, the other of greed
What they can't have, they destroy with words
Such is the life they lead.

They set out to hurt innocent people
Feeling no remorse at what they've done
The only thing that is on their mind
Is how to become Number One.

They spit on the ones who helped them attain
Some recognition and some respect
But they've severed the ties of morality and love
And people around them, they will infect.

Beware of these people for they don't care
They'll use you and cast you aside
All that matters is what they're striving for
They will definitely take you on a ride.

Don't go where angels fear to tread
Turn around and walk away
The price you'll pay is way too high
Don't let your soul be darkened or swayed.

Open your eyes and look within
So many people can't be wrong
You've heard the words of the innocent ones
Don't listen to the devil's song.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.
Who is wise and understanding among you?
Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure;
then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
James 3: 9-17

What we know and even what we believe are not that significant if they don't show up in the way we live. Pure and simple, faith not lived everyday is not faith, it is facade.

Blessed is the man who finds out which way God is moving and then gets going in the same direction.

Remember that your brethren and sisters in Christ, with whom you find so much fault, are God's elect. And if He chose them, why do you reject them? They are bought with Christ's blood, and if He thought them worth so much, why do you think so little of them? .......... Look at the bright side of your brother, and deal with the problem side of yourself, instead of reversing the order as many do.
.............. I will not find fault with you, my friend, if I can help it, because you will be one day without fault before the throne of God! If God will so soon remove your faults, why should I take note of them?

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

If I take offense easily; if I am content to continue in cold unfriendliness, though friendship be possible, then I know nothing of Calvary love.
Amy Carmichael

The man who gazes upon and contemplates day by day the face of the Lord Jesus Christ, and who has caught the glow of the reality that the Lord is not a theory but an indwelling power and force in his life, is as a mirror reflecting the glory of the Lord.
Alan Redpath

Hold to patience in your hearts, my friends, and put it into action when the situation calls for it. Don't let any abusive word from your neighbor stir up hatred in you, and don't allow any loss of things that pass away to upset you. If you are steadfast in fearing the loss of those things that last forever, you will never take seriously the loss of those that pass away; if you keep your eyes fixed on the glory of our eternal recompense, you will not resent a temporal injury. You must bear with those who oppose you, but also love those you bear with. Seek an eternal reward in return for your temporal losses.
Gregory the Great

I choose peace... I will live forgiven. I will forgive so that I may live.
Max Lucado

No one will be so seriously and constantly watchful over himself as he who loves himself IN and FOR God alone. Having the image of God in himself, he has a motive strong, we might perhaps say, as that which controls the actions of angels, to guard and protect it.
François Fénelon
