~ Evening Peace ~

I lay down to sleep in the evening
Before closing my eyes for the night
I look at the view from my window
All those thousands of stars shining bright

I just look in awe and wonder
How many is possibly there
I know my God knows the number
For it was He who put them there

Then there in the darkness of evening
I see the full moon shine so bright
It's purpose from the beginning
Was just to light up the night

That blanket of dark blue skies
With those wonders placed in them
Brings me much peace and comfort
Tonight as I'm praying to Him

I can almost see His face
As I gaze at that heavenly sight
I'm so sure I can feel His presence
And he'll be watching me thru the night

I thank Him for the peace
He puts within my mind
With such a tranquil view
Tonight I'll sleep just fine
