Christmas is the time of year
When we hold family and friends so dear
Pretty wrapped packages of our gifts
We share with loved ones, as snow softly drifts
Glistening colored lights decorate our tree
Christmas celebrations for you and me
Preparation takes place all month long
Children anticipate treats and stockings hung
For generations the Christmas story is told
From our Bibles words of sparkling gold
Gifts in memory presented round our home
Beautiful music and chimes set the tone
Services of adoration we do attend
As our children pray and do pretend
Of Santa yet they know it’s Christ's birth
Joyous praise is sung all over Earth
