~ Grandpa's Laughter ~

 Grandpa used to sit
And watch us children play
As long as he would watch me
I entertained him, in a childish way

He'd laugh so hard at things I did
It made me a lot more active
I loved to hear him laugh
So I kept him attracted

My legs were short and skinny
A clumsy tom boy was I
I'd try to kick the football
That's all it was, a try

I kicked so hard and missed
And landed upside down
Grandpa's laughter just went on
As I lay embarrassed on the ground

I was such a little girl
Kept trying to do my best
If I'd make one good kick
Then I'd forget the rest

Grandpa, he would tease me
About my kicking skills
Still trying to kick that ball
Kept him laughing at my spills!
