Home Run King
~
He's still a kid at heart
Though he is fifty-three,
He likes to play some ball
Or go climbin' in a tree...
You'll find him goin' fishin'
For Bluegills in a pond,
Then fryin' up his catch
For a picnic on the lawn.
Too bad there ain't more like 'em,
That take the time each day,
To stop and smell a simple rose
Or take your hand to pray...
In his youth of yester-year,
He was the Home Run King...
Just tagged home plate, amid the
cheers,
That followed his great
swing....
But now he's learned a new
skill,
So valued in this life,
He's stolen home within our
hearts,
A Home Run King for Life!
