They'd tell you stories of love
The love between a man and a woman
A love blessed from up above.
If these walls could talk
They'd tell you about the laughter
The giggles and chuckles of little
children
Is what our hearts were after.
If these walls could talk
They'd tell you about the pitter-patter of
little feet
The hugs and kisses so willingly given
The time spent with them was so sweet.
If these walls could talk
They'd also tell you about the sorrow
The unexpected death of a loved one or
friend
Thinking there will never be a tomorrow.
If these walls could talk
They'd tell you about Christmas time
The presents, the tree, and the singing
Plus the bells that always did chime.
If these walls could talk
They'd tell you about our moments of
prayer
How we got on our knees and talked with
our Lord
Our days we wanted to share.
So the next person who lives in this house
Will feel the love in every room
An essence of our lives is left behind
That essence is like a beautiful perfume.
