~ Keep Your Eye On The Goal ~

Folks sing so many songs,
About their journey to heaven,
About how they've repented,
And their sins are forgiven.

That's all well and good,
Can't condemn what they say,
But they must stay committed,
Or they're sure to lose their way.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus,
And the straight and narrow road,
Then you'll be ever so happy,
You've laid down that heavy load.

Now once you've gotten started,
Please don't stop and look around,
For the world will distract you,
Take away the peace you've found.

So onward and upward,
Every day we're marching on,
Till at last we've crossed old Jordan,
And see Jesus on His throne.
