~ Lazarus ~
Life's wrapped 'round your soul white linens from the grave,
While Furies sing their songs and oh, they rant and rave!
But my arms are still long, they reach you every day,
My ears are not dull, they hear when you pray.
My eyes sought you out while in your mother's womb,
My hand holds your hand as you climb from this tomb.
I groan in my heart for every tear you cry,
Every wrenching sob, every saddened sigh.
But now you must believe
With enlightened eyes to my heart,
For Life lies therein and never will depart!
And to the Furies, I now say,
Loose him! Let him be!
Arise my splendid love, I have set you free!
Arise my splendid love, leave the linens at the grave,
Believe my love for you and never let it waive!
