~ To My Husband ~


I just received your letter today
I have such an ache in my heart
To know what you must be going through
Just tears my heart apart.

I know you feel what you're doing is right
And I'll back you all the way
But I wish this war would soon be over
That's what I pray for every day.

I want you here with me and the children
We all miss you and love you so
I long to have your arms around me
But I know you had to go.

I too wish upon the stars
And ask the Lord to watch over you
To protect you and keep you safe from harm
To help you see things through.

The devil's dominions are hard at work
Such evil I know you've seen
Horrific events are shown on TV
We see these horrible scenes.

Just know you're always in my thoughts
And always in my heart
I love you with every fiber of my being
I count the days we're no longer apart.
