I did not have a friend before
Who believed in me like you,
I now can hear the blue birds sing
And see butterflies too.
I did not have to climb a mountain
Or even reach the stars
You have always cared for me,
You knew just where I was.
When many could not see me
Or call me by my name
They never saw me through your eyes
And didn't know me, 'til you came.
My life was just the same,
Until you became a friend of mine,
You did not question why
I was sad until I cried.
You helped me get to know Jesus
Now I see Him, with new eyes,
You believe what I write, all I can become
You never turn your back
You help everyone.
If I had a rainbow with all the colors of life
I would make a halo, on your head to alight,
You have a special gift, people everywhere can see
Now that I have met you
You are the world to me.
