~ Little Bird ~

Sitting in the tree so high
Watching me as I go by
Cautiously, its head would turn
As if there was much to learn.
Hopping now on limbs so free
Never losing sight of me
Chirping, out a natures song
Looking off it won't be long.
Tiny wings will take their flight
To some other refuge sight.
But for now I'll just pretend
I have me a special friend.
Wish the world could only see
What I've found up in this tree.
Life so precious to the eye
We ignore, I wonder why.
As my friend has left me now
Deep inside I'm sad somehow.
Empty branches without word
Waits for one more little bird.
