~ Love For Memorial Day ~
I see the eagle flying over the USA
Let us remember the Soldiers
On this Memorial Day
For the good men and women
Who have fallen in the name of freedom
And become
"The Sons Of Liberty"
I salute their courage and their love
I look at the Lady of Liberty
She stands for all the people
Who came from all across the world
Wanting freedom of speech
So we all can have peace
Voices which never die
Like Washington, Patrick Henry too
Wars like 'The civil war"
1776, fighting the English, WW1 AND WW11,
A war our own fathers fought in
Pearl Harbor, a great loss to the Americans
Korea and the forgotten war of Vietnam
Now we fight a war overseas
The Iraq of golden sands
Too many names in stone to see
From young people dying in combat
I see the planes and I wish this Memorial Day
Would bring the soldiers back.
Yes our eagle and the liberty bell still stand
As does The declaration of Independence for all man
So on this blessed day we form,
To give thanks for all the American Soldiers
Who live to bring true peace
To our shores once more.
