~ She's Only 92 ~

She's only 92, she says,
but now she's slowing down...
She still likes to go grocery shopping
and says "I need to go to town"...

The things that she has witnessed
will not soon be forgotten,
She's seen so many milestones..
from birth to chopping cotton...

Then she was blessed with children,
six, to be exact...
The clan bands round her tightly,
a faithful loving pact...

We love her completely
and I love to hear her speak...
Her words have so much wisdom,
and aren't tempered for the weak...

She says what's on her mind,
and this privilege she has earned,
for life has been a lesson,
and from her, we've much to learn...

The questions that I ask her
she always has an answer for,
her 45 yr old grandchild
thinks she hung the moon and stars...

Her hearing isn't quite the same
as it used to be,
but she has a good excuse,
she's only 92, you see!!
