It is the
time of year to give thanks
For what you have harvested
in your life
Whether it is friends so
very dear
Or the woman that you want
to be your wife.
I give thanks for sons who
make me proud
That they grew to be such
very fine men
Friends that will not turn
their backs on me
Whose love I know is not
just pretend.
Given health though my body
I did abuse
Even with aches and pains
always present
A roof over my head and
never an empty stomach
Company that I can find is
always pleasant.
But most of all I give
thanks for you
The love that you share with
me every day
All of the things that you
say as well as do
For all of this I do give
thanks when I pray.
