~ I'm A Transformation ~


A transformation has taken place
My life now has a new meaning
I'm not the person I was before
I'm a different human being.

I'm now in tune with what's going on
I am aware and I can see
The pain of others and their cries
Of those less fortunate than me.

This transformation was ever so subtle
I can't tell you how long it took
All I know is I can now hear my heart
And it's given me a new 'out-look'.

So many times I have diverted my eyes
From the suffering and the pain of others
I didn't want to see what was going on
I didn't want to be bothered.

But at last my eyes did finally see
The pain, the misery, and the woe
My heart began to break in two
I saw more than I wanted to know.

How could I have been so cold and uncaring
How could I have been so blind
To not care for my fellow man
To be so selfish and unkind.

Please understand I'm not that way
This transformation is now complete
No longer do I ignore the wants and needs
Of those who might know defeat.
