~ We Belong Above ~
We may not see the future
With our limited abilities
But it is there, just as the wind
We see blowing through the trees
We don't see where the wind comes from
But we know that it is there
We see it blow the grassy knolls
As it whirs without a care
The same is said for our home in Heaven
We may not see it, but feel it near
I know for certain there's a place for us
When we're no longer here
Oh, the beauty we will witness
When our soul journeys to this place
Will be something we have never seen
Filled with tender, loving grace
We will feel the velvet grass
As we walk barefoot in the meadow
We'll smell the scent of flowering gardens
And see them dance, swaying to, and fro
Our loved ones will be waiting
To greet us at that Holy Gate
They have missed us for so long
No! They will not be late
Jesus will walk up
from the distance
With a love that shines so bright
He will welcome us with open arms
Never again, be far from sight
Streets of Gold, and Jasper
Will glisten in the sun
Then, shining brightly from below
Waterfalls will run
Jesus is waiting for us
With patience, and much love
Because He sees the good in all
For He knows, we belong above.
