All around is peaceful...
The owls hoot from the trees...
The starry night's a-twinkle
I feel the gentle breeze...
So contented is my soul...
My heart's at peace once more...
I love that time of evening
When moon-shadows cross the floor
There doesn't seem to be a care...
No worries fill my mind...
If only for an instant
I float through endless time...
There will be time enough tomorrow
To sort out tasks and chores...
But, for tonight, I'm happy...
That's what the evening's for!
