~ Wild Turkeys ~

Walking the forest in the late sunlight
I saw wild turkeys with feathers so bright
What a wonderful sight they were to see
Standing at the pool looking back at me.

The tom, his colored wing feathers wide spread
Tail feathers like a fan reaching over his head
These wild turkeys roamed the forest with ease
Never in a hurry living their life so free.

I watch as they move into the forest so deep
They would look for a tree in which to sleep
Watching the wild turkeys was a pleasure
A blessing from God I will always treasure.
