~ Another Kind Of Soldier ~
(Soldier Mommy)

She arises every morning
Before the break of day;
Heart yearning for her family
She left so far away.

She's missing her daughter;
She longs again to be a wife;
But that is why she's fighting,
Why she's willing to give her life!

She fights so her little girl
Can have the VERY BEST
That the world has to offer;
She won't settle for any less!

She's fighting for her daughter
So she has the chance to succeed,
In all that she may attempt;
In this Land of Sweet Liberty!

She's fighting for her family,
So they may not know war...
She's fighting for her country,
And ALL that it stands for:

The right to have freedom
In what we want to say.
The right to go to church...
The very right to pray!

The right to a democracy,
A war already fought and won;
The right to say that we live
In a country next to none!

So she arises in the morning
Before the break of day,
And, with her Bible in her hands,
Gets on her knees to pray:

'Father, in this godless land,
I come, now, in prayer to You!
Help me this day to do what I must,
Be my strength to carry through!

Help me, Lord to do my best,
Protect me along the way.
This I ask in Jesus' name,
As I humbly pray!'
