If you wander past the window
Of my Mamas pretty place,
You will enjoy the best aromas
And the secret smile upon her face.
For there all lined up in plainest
view
You'll see the craft of her loving
hands,
From slaving away all day
The cleverest cook in all the land.
There's apple pie crimped around the
edge
And delicious strawberry sponge,
Lamingtons, raspberry and choc
Pinwheels, fairy cakes and scones.
And there upon the old stove top
Simmers warming veggie soup,
Tucked in the oven, steak and kidney
pie
Enough to feed an army coup.
And as you casually waltz right in
She'll pause and sweetly say,
Hello love, how was your day
Cause that's a mothers gentle way,
Of saying I love you,
My treasured little sunshine ray.
