Dear Lord Jesus, as leaves drop for winter's chill
To protect the gentle parts
May Your love now come to me
As autumn in my heart

Settle in me Savior
Shelter my tender soul
Blow all that should fade away
So Your Spirit makes me whole

Fill me with Your being
So in me You're doing well
May I bud as Your beloved child
As one in whom You dwell

I want to be Your little tree Lord Jesus
And bloom upon Your path
Change me with each season
To bloom Your color in my heart

Soft Whispers for you from
Derry's Heart Poems © 2005
heartwhispers@iinet.net.au

As men cherish young plants at first
and fence them about with hedges
to keep them from hurt,
but when they are grown they remove these and leave them to the wind and weather,
so God sustains His children at first
with comforts...
Then, He alone knows when and why
He wants us to bear greater winds.
