~ Behind At Christmas ~

Christmas is almost here at last
The days have gone by, way too fast
I'm way behind in all my shopping
Haven't even hung up our Christmas stockings!

The tree is up, but it's naked and bare
The ornaments are in boxes, stacked by the stairs
I'm dazed and confused, what do I do next?
My list is endless, I need some rest!

But I don't have time to do any of that
I won't let Christmas go by, that's a fact
The day after Christmas, I'll let out a sigh
I'll see that I managed, I did get by.

That's when I'll start planning for Christmas next year
Buy presents now, before Christmas appears
I won't have to rush or scurry about
I'll have it all done, there is no doubt!

I know I've said this all before
But I've gotten older and my body is sore
Do my shopping now, while I still can
Before I have to ask for a helping hand.
