I am but a simple stitch In the whole design of life, But one special little stitch in time Can save a lot of strife. For one tiny broken thread Can mean the very end, The demise of the newest stockings Impossible to mend. Just one loose loop of wool A sweater can be spoiled, One pulled cotton in crochet Will waste the hours of toil. A missing French knot in embroidery Leaves little to defend, A weak link in a chain Will all it's value rend. But if the tailor who is clever Restores the missing stitch, Then once more there is worth Where once there was remiss. The one so wise working with love Is needling me into His beautiful plan, For I am a very vital link Within the times of man. No other can fulfill the pattern With those before and after me, We connect in such love to complete God's perfect tapestry.
