~ Candles Burn In Our Hearts ~

September 11, 2001,
we still see all we have lost
In the stars we will always see their shining light
Their world will never end, this we understand
as the candles burn on in the night
Never can you die, because it's for freedom that you stand

We hear your cry up in the sky
Father, mother, sister, brother, or an everlasting friend
You are the happiness that we knew
we cannot change the past, but your love will always last

When the candle went out, there was silence, to the sky
But, we will keep you in our heart
our soul becomes your life
Every day that passes by
we think of September 11 2001,
that awful day we had to say goodbye

We will keep the candle alight, will the pain begin to die
We will remember everyone, even those we do not know
God took them into Heaven where the candles ever glow

Life is everlasting, yet on this earth we stay
trying to forget the suffering, only just enough
So we can live on, yet with your names upon our lips
and a candle glowing always, in our heart of love.
