I awoke
to a full blue moon,
as the tiny stars lit up my room...
glistening on my window pane
casting tiny flickering lights...
waking everything from the tiniest cricket
to the giant oak tree that was asleep
Twas then I heard an angel band,
striking up a tune I knew as a waltz...
soon my feet began to dance.
A small child I once knew
took me by the hand...
She and I played.
Catching moon beams,
and gathering small fallen stars...
putting them in her tiny apron pocket,
as not to let the moment escape.
Her pretty smile, and the twinkle
in her pretty blue eyes...
Oh! Yes a moment she could cling to...
and have something to come back to
and oh yes something to cling to.
