~ Celebration ~
All heaven exploded
in a blaze of colour
the night
that Christ was born,
Celebration
the sky aflame with light
as a new day dawned.
Long had been
the darkness
For us all, trapped
deep within,
The chain of fear
gripping tight
so peace
could not be seen.
Stand back
make way
For the King
now coming in,
Herald now
His Presence
His birth
the angels sing.
In the heart
of the small one
obedience
held Him fast,
In sacrificing
His own life
He did all
the Father asked.
He rode forth on a chariot
no more
the babe that
used to be,
but as Savior, conquered all
mortality
to set us ever free.
Now light
has come
and shattered
the dark and
lonely night,
Jesus came
with awesome power
to win the cruel fight.
At heavens gates
He stands
with open arms
of welcome into
His wonderland
of love,
While our trust in
Him as Savior
explodes
celebration
throughout
the heavens above.
