~ A Chilly Wet Day ~
A chill is in the air today
But I'd swear that it was fall
The birds are few and don't have a clue
Mother Nature has confused us all.
A cold rain began this morn
It found crevices so it could creep through
Making me moan, I'm chilled to the bone
Warm weather is long overdue.
I listen to the rain filter through the trees
Drowning out any noise the forest keeps
Trying to stay warm from the storm
Even the things that crawl and creep.
The birds are quiet and nestled above
None are taking flight on this cold wet day
Waiting out the rain, they will remain
They want the sun and its warm rays.
