~ Come Up
The Cobblestones ~
I've been pottering about all day
At a little bit of this and that,
I peeled the apples, made a pie
And watched the kitties on the mat.
Now I'm sitting here so quietly
The birds a-twitter in the trees,
Flowers are smiling at the door
Where hangs my welcome wreathe.
You see, I'm also watching down the path
Imagining 'round the bend,
You, walking up the cobblestones
Because you are my friend.
My teapot's resting on the stove
Warming for another brew,
Can't you just hop on a yacht today
And sail way out of view.
Then anchor here at my shoreline
And meander up to me,
I've been waiting...oh...so long
It's you I want to see.

We all need to take time to smell the roses
and sip a cup of tea!!

Best of all is it to preserve everything in a pure,
and let there be for every pulse a thanksgiving,
and for every breath a song.
