The Day After
Yesterday ~
Yesterday I promised
to give you my time;
to sit telling
stories,
of nonsense and rhyme.
Yesterday I made plans
on what we would do,
when I finally had
time
to spend just with
you.
You begged me to sit
down,
not wait one more day,
but I was so busy,
no time now to play.
The day after
yesterday,
the tomorrow I’d
planned,
has finally arrived
but God’s taken your
hand.
It is He who is
holding
you close to His heart
it is me who is crying
“I want a new start.”
We promise tomorrows,
but can never depend
on the future they
hold,
or the sorrow they’ll
send.
The day after
yesterday
has finally arrived,
but God took your hand
and left me to cry.

Reflections From The
Heart
Take time with your
children today...
for the day after
yesterday may
be too late...
Say I love you more...
for tomorrows are
sometime too late.
