This old world can sometimes hit you sideways
And break your heart and smile it would seem,
Just remember when you're travelin' on Life's highways-
Don't let Sorrow go and bury all your dreams…

Yes, sometimes this old Life can be a mudslide
And sometimes it's a mighty steep terrain,
Just grip the strength you'll always find there inside
And hang onto the dreams that call your name…

I know you feel that Fate's been kind of rough now,
But Life's not all just pretty stars that gleam,
I believe that you'll truly make it somehow…
