The bagpipes are sadly
moaning,
As 'Amazing Grace' softly
plays...
Another soldier has gone
home...
Another sleeping, lays ~
Another widow crying,
A flag there in her lap ~
And, quietly, we listen
As a bugle sounds out
taps...
Three rifles ring out
volleys...
Seven-for-twenty-one...
As America again lays to
rest
Yet, another mother's
son...
He lays there peacefully,
Eyes closed, as if he
dreams;
Dress Blues gallantly
adorn him...
Another lost, brave
Marine...
The minister stares with
misty eyes
As he bows his head to
pray...
His words embrace the
family
Brought here this sad
day...
A wreath is laid upon the
mound
Of the freshly covered
grave...
A lost soldier has been
sacrificed
His country's freedom to
save...
Another flag is proudly
flying...
As, we say goodbye to one
more friend...
Wondering if we'll ever
bring
This senseless war to an
end...
And as the crowd walks
away,
There are final, sharp
salutes...
~~~~~~
And another soldier is
deployed,
To fill an empty pair of
boots...
