~ That First Christmas Day  ~

On that night, nearly 2000 years ago,
I suppose the shepherds in the fields
Wondered why the stars seemed so bright,
On this certain night.

There was one that outshined all the rest,
Over the town of Bethlehem that night.
As over a lowly stable,
It brought forth a light so bright.

Then the angels all began to sing
This night GOD, HIS greatest gift
Down to earth, did bring.
HIS own Dear precious SON
Lay asleep in the Manger hay.
GOD'S perfect gift to us of total love
Was born that first Christmas day.
