~ Friendship Evermore ~

Two friends are we, as you and me
Seeing, much the same
from where we stay,
separate, yet one we'll be,
noticing together, similar
in our familiar way

Seeing beyond, that is
Where true friends exist-
tomorrow, from each moment,
when we knew to say
what would take us onward...
to another lovely day

As we sit and gaze
into all that draws ahead,
for however long
we'll be,
Secure in the little
that's needed to be said

Yet, discussing all the more
As that's what friendship's for
To sit together, softly talk
Just being...
thinking, sharing like we do,
in friendship-me and you
