~ Garden Of Smiles ~

Roses call me to their side
Cloistered groups of red and pink
There to linger and abide
To listen with my heart, not think

Luscious roses dipped in dew
Soft, fragrant fists of petals
Hold such beauty to imbue
In my heart to gently nestle

Sweet perfume, heady treat
So thinks the butterfly on wing
She stops to smell the fragrance, sweet
Flutters off, some lilacs spying

Daisies dance in morning breeze
Yellow centers like the sun
Pansies, with their smiles that please
Say " Good morning", one by one

But, oh, the rose, in sweet repose
So feminine, beguiling
Light-yellow rose, do you suppose
That roses could be smiling

Perhaps it's me, in ecstasy
For my garden is my place
Hard to keep in check, you see
This smile upon my face
