~ A Gift From Heaven ~

It's been several months since I was told
Of a special gift I was to receive
A child will be born into this family
This child through love was conceived.

I really don't know what to expect
But I'm filled with so much love
This precious gift I've been blessed with
This gift sent from heaven above.

I have my baby's room all ready
And now I'm counting the days
When I can hold you in my arms
And protect you from harm's way.

I'll be the best mother, that's for sure
Your life has been entrusted to me
This wonderful, beautiful bundle of joy
I don't care if it's a he or a she.

I pray my sweet you'll be all right
You'll have ten fingers and ten toes
So I can kiss each one so tenderly
Hold you tight and I'll never let go.

I never dreamed I'd ever know
The amount of love I have for you inside
It's oh so different from any other
These feelings to you I'll confide.

And when that wonderful day arrives
When I'll be holding you close to me
My love for you will not be measured
For it will have no boundaries you see.
