A friend is a precious gift
That cannot be bought or sold
Their value is far greater
Than diamonds or gold.

A loving friend stays near
And in times of trouble
Call out and they will hear
Bringing love and cheer.

Their eyes are open to see
And a heart to understand
Waiting to give comfort
By lending a helping hand.

When God gives you a gift
Be thankful that He sends
Not riches, pearls, or rubies
Just a true loving friend.
