When we first walked down those halls
We started on our very own novel.
With homecoming floats and football games
At the memories we marvel.

With every step and every word
We wrote another page
Laughter, happiness, sorrow and pain
Helped fill our high school stage.

And tonight we come together
Once again as friends
Awaiting that single moment
Where our road of life will bend.

These will be the hours
To shine ever so bright
As smiles show our happiness
And tears cloud our sight.

As graduation gets ever closer
Prom is done and the party after
Don’t put your book on the shelf
We’re only closing our childhood chapter.

Years from now we’ll smile and say
How fast the time has gone
Flowing through every day
Like a well tuned song.

So as we walk across that stage
Of new lives each a contender
We’ll look to the past, diplomas in hand
Our one sweet day to remember.
