The little graystone chapel
That sits along the road
It used to be a haven of rest
Where many brought their heavy load
The choir sang such sweet refrain
The preacher taught with love
Showed us how to worship God
And lay up treasures in our home above
But as time has come and gone
The doors now closed up tight
The preacher's no longer there
There'll be no church tonight
It saddens me to see
How careless folks can get
About these little churches
They could still be useful yet
If only someone would
Take the time to care
But no one seems to notice
That church is even there
